isa and I arrived at the Myrtles plantation around 5:00 p.m. on an overcast August day. We were looking forward to visiting this house which would be our first visit to a reputedly haunted house for the Haunted Louisiana web project. We arrived a few hours early for the tour, which was to start at nightfall, so we decided to eat at the restaurant in the carriage house of the plantation. I thought the food was great -- French and Cajun cooking -- I had the duck. Lisa didn't enjoy the bean dish she had and felt the food was a bit over priced. We asked if it was ok for us to walk the grounds and take pictures of the house and property and were told that was encouraged. So we roamed the grounds taking pictures of whatever caught our fancy.
